One thing is sure…if you live long enough, wrinkles will eventually form on your face and neck. Luckily, there are some things that you can do to fight back. Before we look at ways to get rid of wrinkles, let’s look at why they formed in the first place.
There are three primary factors that contribute to wrinkle formation. Exploring each one will help you to better understand wrinkle formation.
First, the UV rays that are in direct sunlight allow the formation of free radicals on your skin. Their one purpose in life is to attack and damage your skin cells. Free radical damage normally first appears as crow’s feet around the corner of your eyes. Free radical formation can be limited by always wearing sun screen when you’re outside.
Your skin’s elasticity is governed by a protein called collagen. Your body will produce less and less collagen after the age of 30. You can keep your skin looking much younger by using a good skin care cream that contains collagen.
Elastins are proteins that are used to bind skin’s dermal layers. As you age, these proteins will become brittle, causing your skin to “fold”. Your best defense here is to be sure that your skin care treatment contains an excellent moisturizer, such as evening primrose oil or shea butter.
A good anti-wrinkle treatment will also include other important ingredients. Anti-oxidant, such as vitamins A & E are essential for eliminating free radicals. The presents of a good skin tightening ingredient like serum albumen is also a good thing. And, try to find a product that contains an ingredient to stimulate collagen production, such as Matrixyl.
